This site will provide stories of people of color that lived in the Lake Champlain area. These stories may be of interest to individuals seeking information on their ancestors and suspect or know that they lived in this region of New York.  In addition to family history, there may be researchers wanting to learn more about people of color living in this area.

While there are some familiar names like the Tankards, many of these individuals were buried in the census, newspapers, and other sources.  This will allow them to emerge as contributors to the nation.
