Alvin Billings

Alvin Billings, born around 1833, was a Black farmer residing in Altona, New York. His only known historical record appears in the U.S. Civil War Draft Registration Records from 1863. At the time, he was 30 years old, married, and classified as a Class 1 individual eligible for military service in the 16th Congressional District of New York, covering Essex and Warren counties. The record, dated July 1, 1863, did not list his birthplace, and no further census or military records have been found to provide additional details about his life.
